    Taken early morning on the grouse moor,the sun had just come up,cannon500mm IS,L,F4,I/4ext,700MM FL,5D MK111,resting camera and lens on bean bag on fence post,iso250,F5.6,1/1600s,CROP,SHARPENED,CB.

    Lovely shot Chris I like the bird in environment and I am also pleased to see the leg feathers, so often the legs become obscured by the grasses or heather. The pose looks quite regal and it makes for a very appealing image.

    Thanks Jonathan,if you look on the legs, wing and neck,you can see the bird is moulting.

    He does look proud...great lighting...and nice amount of environment included...a very pleasing image of a new to me species from across the pond!!

    Thanks for looking and comments,Geoff,this bird is a game bird,and is shot from August the 12th till Dec10,it is a rich mans sport.
