This guy perked right up for a few seconds, which was perfect for the vertical composition that I was already set up for.

    Daniel:

Great POV, soft, beautiful background, reflection is as good as possible from this shooting angle. The inclusion of the plant material is interesting, as it provides a bit of an anchor to establish where the water level is, which is otherwise hard to judge because of the reflection.

Interesting choice on your framing. You often leave equal space above the head and below the reflection of the head, but much more above this time. The light purple up top is lovely.

    cheers

Gorgeous! Regal pose and I love the horizontal in-focus line in the water. Interesting about the spacing -- I think I would have cropped some off the top even though the color is interesting.

Beautiful comp and wonderful bg. I like the raised foot just peeking out. The inclusion of the purple tones on top is splendid and I wouldn't change a thing! Sharon

I love the color on this image. The pinkish-red on the top really makes the frame!

The backgrounds of your recent shorebirds image are driving me crazy. The three color tones of this one are just amazing.
