    Wood Ducks again. Started out with 12 ducklings a week ago and now down to 10.

    Colin nice little family photo a bit bright laking a bit of detail on the bubs but still a nice pic
    aussie wood ducks have a habit of pinching other wood ducks eggs or chicks to add to their own

    Hi Colin, I like the opposite poses from Mom and Dad, and great to see all the chicks huddled together. I always like the colourful settings from beach shots.

    As you havent put theme as a prefix to your title, would you like to add this to the monthly theme.

    Colin:

    I like the strong sense of environment, so different from where our wood ducks hang out. The slight diagonal line of the chicks and adults works. The detailed background works against you a bit as well, since the lower adult's head gets lost a bit in the background.

    The small f/stop was a two edged sword, as it was nice to get the birds in your plane of focus, but that also makes the bg very sharp.

    No easy solution here, although if you had been able to get significantly lower, that could have helped soften the background.

    Fits the theme well.
