    Very nice Jon.
I would move the bird to the left in the frame and take a bit off the top.
Great look at the barred tail and I like the landing pose.Nice and sharp.

A nice 3d look to this, I would move the bird to the left and crop a lot tighter.

Thank you for the comments my original crop was a little more 3:2 as suggested, I went for this to increase the subject size. My apologies, the techs were incorrect, I used the 2xTC not 1.4TC. The crop is already massive I am not sure I dare crop any more. I am pleased to get the impression that you think the quality is OK.

Great dynamic landing shot. I like the crop suggestions above, and the IQ held up well to a massive crop, but I can appreciate how you don't want to push your luck. The white smudge to the right of the bill catches my eye.

Hi Jon, a great result if you state this is a large crop. Great incoming pose, nice and sharp, which has brought out the detail very well. Another vote for moving the bird to the left.

    Jon:

The image detail presents very well at this size, despite the large crop, which speaks to the quality of the original file. Good comp. tips above. Dynamic pose.

    Cheers

Love seeing all the plumage features shown due to the great flight pose....Light quality is pleasing....I had the same reaction as others regarding subject placement in the frame...just a bit centered for my personal taste...but others really enjoy this very nice shorebird image.

Hi Jon , well timed frame !!
I like the pose and the overall colors and tone , might drop the Exp . in the HL a fraction i.e. -0,17.
Nice IQ for being a large crop.
Another vote regarding the crop moving to the left .

At web size the IQ looks fine. It probably holds up well enough with a 1Dx anyway.
    Agree with Gail re crop!
