    We don;t see those walking on the ground all that often! It's looking a little wobbly or out of balance out of the water. Good details, exposure. Some of the darker areas above tend to draw the eye so perhaps lightening them a bit would be good.

    Great find and a very nice image you captured. Light and shadows are a bit harsh but still doesn't ruin the shot by any means.

    Was this the same bird that was injured? It really does bring the phrase "like a fish out of water" to mind :) I find the eye contact to be engaging and really rather adorable. Details look excellent and exposure spot on.

    Hi Dan, excellent perspective here, and love the 'balancing' pose from the outspread wings. Well exposed on the whites, and love the sand on the tip of the beak - either from falling over, or from feeding in the sand. I dont know this species at all.
