    Default Warbler Hybrids

Is it possible this warbler might be a hybrid? It doesn't match my thought of it being a Common Yellowthroat, Connecticut or Nashville. Opinions would be most appreciated.

    Regards,

    Jonathan

Dan, It has stumped a few. I've been informed by two regional warbler specialist that the gray pattern on the head and throat are from a shadow vs plumage color. It is a Nashville Warbler and not a hybrid.

Ha, now I see that the shadow does not indeed match in both photos (see space behind the eye). That was really deceptive!.

I had been wondering about the shadow/hood too.... At first thought it varied due to the different head angles.... upon closer inspection, it doesn't seem to relate to the feathers. Thanks for the update Jonathan.
