I frequently look for the little scene within the big scene. Here I am just below a large waterfall in Arkansas photographing the powerful rushing of water past one rock. I was mesmerized by the power, the non-stop rush of huge volumes of water and the variety of designs created. This is an in-camera blur at 1/5 sec, f22, ISO 100. Processing included saturating the colors with a filter from On One Perfect Effects, sharpening in PS, a reduced layer of Topaz Glow, and another round of sharpening.

Nancy, this is a beautiful, abstract image of rushing water...it definitely depicts the power that you were trying to capture. I really like the orange and rust tones, and the sharp lines juxtaposed with softer lines throughout the image. My eyes keep getting drawn to the darker left, bottom corner...perhaps you could lighten that up a bit?

Wendy said it very well -- striking image!! Agree about the dark corner. It's a mesmerizing mix of blur and sharp detail.

Thank you Wendy and Diane! Good suggestion about that dark area in the lower left.

Outstanding! I can FEEL the power of the water. I can almost hear it. Gorgeous colors. Excellent composition.

Wow, it's amazing how cool that close up view of the water is so artistic with your enhancements. I love the colors too. Very nice processing, it shows the force of the water yet is still very abstract.

Nancy, you have definitely captured the power of the water. I also like the color palette. To my eye the essence of the image are the lines converging on the rock. I added a bit to the left, cropped a bit off the top and right to accentuate the flow.

Thank you everyone! Gary, I like your take on the image with the alternate cropping.
