Nice osprey, Karl. Clean BG, though the yellow spot draws a bit of attention. It looks a bit warm on my screen, but it isn't calibrated. I'd sharpen the head more. In the ideal world I'd prefer the perch not to go up and cover part of the body. TFS.

Funny how they like perching on matchsticks with those immense talons.
I am not as fussed about the BG, as our countryman Lóránt.
If it were mine, I'd slice off from above, probably above the two side-by-side OOF
blobs above left of the head.
Nice light and clean, sharp shot.

Hi Karl, I would agree with Lorant's comments about the overall saturation, maybe pulling back on the sat & tweaking the WB? I quite like the amount of space around, gives the subject room to breathe, but cropping is subjective to a point. Would also agree on Akos's observations about the 'blobs', removal would improve things. However, for me the subject lacks the finer detail to provide form & clarity (sharpness) and I wonder if in 'smoothing out the BKG, this has also effected the subject where Luminance & or Colour noise has been applied too and so detail is then lost, just a thought? Amazing how such a spindly branch can support such a big raptor.

Thanks, Steve here is your answer.
Extreme heat, extreme high humidity unfortunately is not your friend when it comes to clean sharp images.
Southern Ontario in a way is a large peninsula surrounded by the Great Lakes.
Humidity is always high, heat shimmer is almost always there.

Cheers Karl, can understand and appreciate that from my own experiences in India & Africa, I never link high heat with Southern Ontario, I tend to always think of 'chilly' -30-40 plus, when I'm on the West coast in Feb/March.

Hi Karl lovely inquisitive pose, and pops nicely from the BG. Whist saturation has been mentioned, I would maybe tone down the contrast, and comp wise, move him to the right a bit more.
