    Default Pied Stilt

My daughter is home for a week of midterm break so we took a trip up the road to one of our favourite spots for end of the day photos. When the lake is still, lovely reflections of the last light of the day on the hills behind can create great reflections. This was a small patch of colour that I managed to isolate the Stilt in - half a step left or right or a few inches up or down and it was lost.

    Nicely done Tony.
Lovely water colour. I think the higher POV helped with this image.

Hi Tony -- Lovely warm colors here . Nice reflection you have got here. I think a lower POV would have been more impactful . I also feel some more of the frame should be cropped from the right hand side and a bit from bottom for a more close up look, but your call . TFS !

Very nice capture, Tony. A beautiful contrast with the warmth of the water and the stark blacks and whites of the Stilt. Like the POV and crop.

Great colors and I really like your composition.
I might be tempted to clone out the little cap of white reflection that is separated from the rest of the reflection.

Super nice colours in the water!! I like the comp, and the higher vantage point is better when it comes to reflections (believe it or not I recently photographed plovers standing straight up for the reflections!!). Did you need to remove some blues on the subject?

Beautiful color and light. I really like your comp and your bird placement. Great job capturing the water color and the reflection.

Hi Tony, I like the one legged pose here, and what an interesting 'collar' at the back of the head. I too like the colour of the water, together with gold splashes in the FG.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. No blue reduction on the bird, Dan. Slight global reduction in yellow and orange luminosity and saturation in LR.
