Here is a fresh image from tonight to share. This is full frame plus a bit. I had worked my way close to these very cooperative birds and was in the process of removing my tc when he decided to stretch. snapped the tc back on, aimed and hoped for the best. :)

Typical processing, including reducing the warmth a bit as the image looked too warm when I saved it as a jpeg.

    Just wonderfully done Grace!
I don't even care about the HA here.
Perfect sharpness and love the pebbles opposed to a
    typical sandy or muddy shore.
    Gorgeous details and light.
    Super!
    Thanks for sharing.

Lovely wingstretch, Grace. I really like the colour palette of this image and your really nailed focus. Maybe a little more space above and an in front of the bird if you have it?

Terrific image, Grace. Love the dynamic pose, good detail. As Akos has already said, the pebbles make a nice change from the usual sandy beach. Tough to get these guys to slow down long enough to find them in a long lens.

Thanks for the looks and comments, friends. Tony, this is full frame. I barely managed to get the stretch in my view finder. :) Agree that a looser comp would not have hurt. And Bill, you made me feel better with your comment about the speed of these birds. I liked to the low light but when they started to run, it was nearly impossible to achieve sharp focus.

I really enjoy the image. Your choice of shooting angle is great, as it is low and intimate, but did not miss out on the opportunity that the beautiful and interesting rocks provided by shooting too low....and the shooting angle was perfect to show the feet, which shorebird photography afficianados always seem to appreciate :) Awesome pose that provides a nice study of this juvies plumage. For being this tight, the composition still feels quite balanced...though a bit more room in front would have been nice....I noted your commentary regarding full frame...
