    This was taken at my local loch, where I am getting real close to these birds, they are usually very difficult, especially when they are still supporting their young.

    I'll revisit at home tonight Will. On my work monitor it looks grainy, as if it was cropped too much.
    But I'll check again in about 8 hours' time on a proper monitor.

    Before reading Akos's comment, my initial impression is that it is oversharpened. Worth revisiting if you agree because otherwise it's a nice portrait.

    the original looks a bit too sharp on my Mac.
