    Default Oystercatcher in flight

    Still working on getting a good image of one of these in flight.
    Here is a start--hope to get more chances.
    1D MKIII 300/2.8 IS + 2X tc
    1/1250s f/8.0 at 600.0mm iso800

    Wow, almost got it! the wings is what I'm not crazy aout, but the face looks great and sharp and is in the clear of the split BG. Great start!

    Hi Bonnie!

    Looks like a pretty good start to me! The face and details are wonderful, and the exposure looks good. I'm not sure if the water feels "tilted", but I like how the bird looks to be flying level! Bill may be slightly over saturated?

    They really are fast, as mentioned the wing position is not ideal, the details are very good.

    Congratulations Bonnie. These are not easy to catch in flight. Love the eye contact and the exposure is good with nice detail in the blacks.. Thanks for sharing this with us.

    I'd say you're off to a very good start !
    Can't wait too see more !

    Agree only weak point is the wing position but the head is still nicely separated so it doesn't
    bother me too much.

    Great job Bonnie! this is awesome I never seen a Black Oyster Catcher in flight.
