    From Plum Island several weeks ago, 10 minutes before sunset.

    D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 1600, 1/2000s @ f/6.3 manual. SB-700 @ -1.7 EV.

    bill nice work getting down low good details nice back ground but that early evening colour really makes it

    very nice Bill.
    I like the light on the bird and love the little bit of seaweed. It has a great shape.
    I would be tempted to add a little catchlight in the eye.

    Looks like there is a sand eel in that seaweed! Superb image, Bill with fine details that just take this one to a new level. I personally might crop in tighter, if IQ holds up, just so that the viewer cannot possibly miss all the interest. One of your best, imho.

    Thanks everyone. Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated. There was a tiny existing catchlight, that I should have enhanced. I've brightened it up a bit in this repost. The OP was 90% of full frame. I had kept it loose to complete the enclosure of the little pool on the right. I've cropped it here, to about 79% of full width, as Grace has suggested.
