Hi Akos, the green mush FG provides an alternative to the water which I must admit, I rather like for this particular image. The rich, saturated colours 'Autumnal ?" creates a nice cool backdrop and gives good separation to the head. I also like the way you have both soft focus & high detail within the plumage, a good balance. Wet fur/plumage can sometimes be a challenge especially when sharpening, but I feel this has worked in your favour, Bears in water are/can be a nightmare, LOL. may be a hint more DoF to retain a little more for the bill would have perhaps been better, but ISO/Camera may not have allowed this, but certainly not a deal breaker. Not a lover though of the almost central placement, less on the RHS as presented or if this is a crop then more to the left would be better I think, but with a fraction then off the RHS still. However, aAs this was created a few years ago your vision/framing & execution will have grown with gained knowledge. The water 'highlight' is, as you say, a 'bummer' but a very easy fix depending on your ethics. Just a thought, although I hate pixel bashing, perhaps if IQ allows a more tighter crop of the head to amplify the 'cuteness' may also work, WDYT????

Backing it bat to you Sir! Disregard the note about DoF, RAW looks spot on.

Wow, I love the texture of the face feathers...really nicely processed! Good techs. I agree the bright streaks in the water at left are unfortunate, but I think it would be an easy fix to get those in check. Really cute subject for the new monthly theme.

Hi Akos, getting down low has really given this a cool perspective, and you managed a great HA too. Focus and sharpness spot in the right area, and pops nicely against parents dark plumage.

Steve suggested this when I sent him the RAW file via e-mail. I really like his version, thought I'd share it.

Oh Akos, if I knew it was going to be posted I might have been a little 'neater' with certain aspects .
