Hi Sanjeev and for sure all others ..... not a competitor to your great flipped Leopard , just another fancy/funny looking big cat .
Would have loved to get a low POV as Sanjeev with his Leopard , however take what you can get and do not complain .... just make the best out of it.
This image was taken in KTP during my last trip to SA .
Canon EOS 1 Dx
Ef 200-400 with TC engaged
HH
F 5,6 ; Iso 800 ; 1/1000 sec
Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; quick and dirty B/W with preset and local contrast added , final touch up with 3 D&B layers .
Thanks for looking and leaving a comment to my previous thread
Hi Andreas, thanks for giving my leopard some company I don't mind it at all. Nice conversion with good tonal range and well handled light. The eye contact is cool and lovely pose.
Hi Andreas -- lovely conversion , very good sharpness and nice composition as well ! i loved the eye contact and nice punch as well . TFS !! Sadly for me no such tiger pose with me .
Hi Andreas - Nice pose. I like the paws in the air too. Sadly though I am not in love with the conversion. It's a bit too contrasty and grainy for my taste. But it's all personal preference and choice. So I don't have to like it so long as you do.
Hi Andreas, like the lazy expression and upside down capture, think you could loose some space off the RHS. Like Rachel, I'm not a lover of pushed mid & 3/4 tones, I just feel it clogs the more subtle contours & reduces the form, but good to explore and challenge both yourself & the audience. Again it's just personal tastes.
Hi folks thanks so much for your various comments , expected them as posted from you i.e. Rachel & Steve but as always no problem , as we all have our own view to things .
Just for additional info , i wanted to have the " form" more in the face rather than in the body , so i burned the 1/2 and 3/4 tones in the body .
Rachel for me the image does not look grainy .
But anyway thanks again for your thoughts folks , cheers Andreas
Love the pose and comp here Andreas, but the mono version isn't doing it for me either, all a personal thing of course, and there are many ways to "skin" a B&W conversion.
