(I tried to correct the title but did not succeed. The Great Ble Heron is a very close relative to the Great Blue Heron. They interbreed.)
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl:
The great blue (also occ. called the Great Ble) is in a good pose, nicely exposed and sharp, with a pleasant bg.

For me, the concern is the out of focus foreground, esp. on the right side. Don't know if you had any options to move your shooting position at all to try and work around this a bit.

    Cheers

Oof stuff covered Karl, like the relaxed pose of the bird in it's habitat, think the pink flowers add a nice bit of interest, I would be very happy if it was mine.

Yes, the FG oof vegetation is the main concern here, but the heron, perch, oof loosestrife, and distant water all look good. Perhaps just a touch bright.

I don"t have much to add to the previous critiques except to say that I agree with "all of the above"

Hi Karl, lovely pose from the Heron, good feather detail and overall sharp. Most of the Heron is posed against a clean BG, and the rest already mentioned.
