    One from yesterday.
I went down on the steep slope as far as I could without disturbing them too much or being them blocked by the vegetation.
Heading back I fell on my knees and elbow, but miraculously I held up my heavy gear in the air. (500+1.4, Gitzo, Wimberley, 1DM4)
    Thanks for looking.

Magnificent image. Nice profile pose with nice eye contact. Beautiful colours with superb fine details in feathers and nicely exposed whites.
Lovely colours in the BG and nice composition.

It's amazing what we can do to save something dear in our hands when falling...I've saved a beer falling down with nary a drop lost

Good looking bird with nice fresh plumage. I like the sprinkling of duckweed on the muddy ground. I get the feeling there is a bit of subject motion blur on the face?

Hi Karl, we have all been there, but it's amazing how we recover the situation quickly without too much of an issue. I would have liked a lower POV like Dans images recently posted for this one, but I guess the FG vegetation would have prevented this? I might have upped the ISO to 800, not much in it, but would have gained a hint more SS.

I'm with Daniel regarding the softness on the face.
Glad you and the gear is OK.
Nice image with a less than ideal (though understandably) POV.
