Default Theme: Twilight Wood Stork at Little Estero

This fancy fellow was captured several years ago at Little Estero in the company of Mr. Cadieux. It had been a long day of shooting with the group, and it started raining, so most of the crew packed it in for the evening. Like the gluttons for punishment that we are, we went back out later, and had some great shooting at twilight. I thought this one fit the theme well.

Post: Slight crop for comp, toned down the flash highlights a bit, selective sharpening of the bird, cleaned a few water spots.

    Your input is always appreciated.

    Cheers

Can't tell flash was used, so well done.
I really like the stillness of both the surrounds
    and the ugly duckling.
    Nicely done Randy.

Hi Randy, love the pose and such a good HA too. You certainly nailed the whites, well exposed, and good use of flash - its very subtle, well done there. Good choice of comp to suit this pose.

I remember that like it was yesterday. Only three of us went out that evening and we were rewarded with the only stork images of the week :-)

I like the vertical comp, exposure, flash-work. Just enough reflection to balance everything out.

Nice work. The flash has given the feathers a nice look without looking flashed.

Thanks guys. And yes Daniel, a well remembered day, the day the 40D died. I always think of it when I here Don Mclean's song!

I like it, almost like a studio shot. Maybe a little more head, but the feathers are very pretty so hard choice.
