    Taken from a different angle. The sunlight seems to be actually penetrating right through the insects head.

    An interesting angle and a good idea. I suspect the focal point is around the thorax as opposed to the eye but it still looks pretty good to me. The only criticism I have to offer is the flower head. I find it a bit busy and it keeps drawing my eyes from the main subject. This is a shot that I have often tried to get and I am still trying to get the one I really want. Certainly worth pursuing because it makes for a more dynamic image than the conventional portrait.

    A difficult shot to get right, there is so little room for error. Nicely done, and I agree that it is a refreshing change.
