These are aloe plants at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia, California. There is a very nice aloe garden there that has hundreds of different aloe plants. I used Nik CEP to make the glowing look and vignette. I have a recipe that I use (you can save them and name them) that uses Glamour Glow, Blur Vignette, and Vignette and make this look.

Very effective combination of effects. I especially like how the glow effected the aloe, and the vignette lessened the visual impact of the surroundings. I even like the multiple stems of the tree in the middle bkgd and the bit of blue sky just there between the trunks. It creates the subtle effect of continuing to draw your eye up through the aloe flowers and upwards. You are lucky to have the Arboretum near you.

Wow, Kerry, this is a very striking image. The blooms really do seem to glow, and the effect pulls the viewer right into the scene.

Glamour Glow does a great job of making these flowers pop! Lovely, lovely glow. Also, lovely composition, with the grouping of these plants. I'm not crazy about the tree trunks in the bg. The vignette works well. Very nice.

    Kerry,

Greetings. Cool. I like the curve pattern in the lower part contrasting the spiky blooms. If it were mine I would bring up the tone level of the blossoms on the left to more closely match the rest maybe a few of the blossoms on the right as well. Is this from the vignette? A more level brightness across the blossoms would give it an interesting posterboard 3D look which may appeal. Thanks for posting. Good looking OP just some thoughts.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
