BG is moorland habitat, good to find one on a post without barbed wire, taken from car window.

Thanks for looking and your comments on my last effort.

Another fine capture of the Snipe Keith. The detail on the bird, and perch is really lovely. POV,HA very nice. Great looking bird, and perch, all fitting nicely with the BG. I also like the comp. Good work.

Excellent capture of the Snipe, Keith. Love the raggedy perch, background and the pose is really nice.

What's not to like here Keith. The vibrant moorland providers a great backdrop, love the weathered/angle post, great perch and for me, the body angle looks spot on. the The curved tip of the foot give a nice sense of gripping and I also like the sheen of the bill. DoF looks good, just get that SS up more, its a D4 !

    Great perch and BG.
I would be tempted to decrease the brightness of the image and to burn the perch slightly.

That's a beauty. Terrific pose, bg, and I like the lichen-covered perch. I've been told more than once that I have too much negative space at the top of images, but I'd add a sliver here to make the image more vertical. And maybe reduce the blue cast a bit. But I haven't a single decent snipe image in my files, and I'd love to have this one.

Composition, subject, and perch all look good...and the BG too. Only the light was harsh and gave you strong contrast especially on the perch so yes to toning down the brights (or reducing contrast). Warming up the image a bit would be a good idea too IMO.

Beautiful shot about as good as it gets, I do see a bit of a cast however on the belly, but that shot is sublime - well done.

Hi Keith, a good angled pose, angled perch - they both work for me. Good DOF on the Snipe, sharp, and love the smooth BG. I agree with Steve regarding the blue cast on the belly.
