    Photographed earlier this month off Sydney, Australia while I was out whale watching. Quite a swell and a hard shot to make with the boat rolling heavily.

    This is a nice topside view.
    The whole image appears underexposed and I see a halo all around the bird.
    Would revisit your PP on this image and meticulously select the bird and raise the exposure and/or brightness on the bird.
    If you have enough pixels this would be nice a s a vertical.

    Thanks Gail, I wasn't sure whether that halo was an optical illusion, I think S&H was the culprit. Here's another go.

    The repost works better. Loads better. Did you blur the BG though?
    Not necessary IMO.
    Let the sea look natural. The birds stands out well enough.
