    Captured in Tarangire NP, Tanzania, 7 April 2015.

    Canon 5DIII + 600 mm f/4 II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held from a vehicle.
    Manual, spot metering, spot AF, f/8, 1/1000 sec, ISO 1250.
    Processed with DPP4 and PS Elements.

    Thought you,d got one of my youg green woodys for a second ! Very similar to them in structure- even some of the colour too. Very smart looking bird i t is too.

    Hi Ian,
    A beautiful subject and a bird I've never heard of before. Wonderful details and exposure. Nice view of the backside as the bird glances slightly backward. A great pose and fine image. I noticed the lighter patch in LRC but that is a nit to me - well done.

    Smashing looking bird, there is some beautiful sharp detail particularly on the head, nice work Ian.

    nice shot,some good detail,like the color and markings of the bird,like the pose,and glad we can see one of its feet.TFS.

    Neat bird indeed! Great markings and colours. I like the tree trunk too, good textures to it. If mine I'd likely perform a bit of eye doctor for the extra reflections.
