I managed to get this shot yesterday at a local loch. I would have liked a looser crop, but the BG was too distracting, and the reflection would have been cut across the neck.

    Thanks for looking.

It's beautiful mate with it calling. I could even see a touch tighter from above and right.
Well done, I see what you mean about similarity.
    Thanks for sharing....

I also would go tighter...Bird is sharp beak to tail, so well done , and nicely side lit..

Super sharp. Great look back head angle and a good job of capturing the peak of the action. And enough depth of field in a nice setting, all from a nice low perspective. What species? a

Thanks for that Arthur. The species is Little Grebe aka Dabchick.

Nearly missed this one Will, taken note of your self critique but you have still finished with a cracking image.

Nice one Will. Point taken about the reflection !! They are a constant problem to me with birds on still water. Lovely Grebe shot. It sees to be crying out for more space on the bottom I agree.

Great low angle, DOF spot on for plumage detail and open bill from calling is a real bonus, Will. I wonder about removing the lower catchlight.

Hi Will, love the low perspective here, great IQ, and you have captured the perfect pose. I agree with removing the tiny catchlight. I feel the comp is spot on.

One of your better images. Well done.

I'm OK with the composition as is. Super nice calling (or yawning?) pose. Good IQ, and the low angle works well. I would only try to tone down or eliminate the whitish area touching the back. All in all well done.

I like this one Will, one of your best IMHO.

From my efforts, not always an easy bird to get close to, and I like this as presented
