Got this gorgeous male at a local pond a few years ago on a chilly and foggy winter morning.
Laying on a couple of black garbage bags in my ghillie suit.
Call used to get him into range as the sun's rays just crept through the treeline behind me.

Lovely close up Amos. Great POV and feather detail. Well worth the effort.
I was photographing Little Grebe(Dabchick) today. They look almost identical

    Thanks for sharing

Grebes are one of my favourite birds and I really enjoyed getting to view this new to me species. Great low angle, nice water and background. Great details, nice flair with the puffed feathers. Good eye details and head angle. No complaints here. Great image.

    Akos:

Excellent in all regards, pov, exposure, eye. Enough detail in bg to help with sense of depth. Like the little ripple across the front.

Sliver more DOF might of been nice, but a very fine image as posted.

    Cheers

Nice work Akos. I understand you were trying to capture the cold morning feeling but I nevertheless think the bird needs to be just a little 'warmer'. Regards, Ian.

Nice low angle, eye contact and details. The bird's HA is just perfect the the beak separates from the body in the background. Perfect shot in my world. TFS.

A killer-good image of a wonderful bird. Super-sharp with a perfect EXP. I'd crop it from the bottom from just at the top of your signature. a

Hi Akos, excellent low angle, as well as a good angled pose. I do like the plumage detail infront, sharp, and just love the smoothness of the water.
