Hi folks i just like to post another "flying seal" .
Again this Grey Seal was photographed this year in may on Helgoland Island , the scene was lit by a slight overcast sky and the sun peeking through when you have this brightness that is bright but does not really bring out colors and definition .

So i pushed things bit in post as the raw was horribly flat .

    Canon EOS 1D x
Ef 200-400 with TC engaged ( 560 mm)
HH lying flat only belly .

    F 8 ; Iso 2000 ; 1/2000sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; cropped for comp

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment to my previous thread .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, great low angle with nice pose by the seal. PP looks good with good detail and contrast. Nice look at that eye too. TFS.

Hi Andreas -- Lovely comp and and POV ! nice muted colors , that sun is visible in the top corner of its eye , one can actually feel by looking at this image how the sun must be going in and out . nice sense of movement and details look good too.
Extreme case of nit picking " a sharp black spot at the extreme right corner at the edge of the frame " :) . TFS !

Hi Andreas, nicely capture, like the slight lift in the body and movement in the flippers, with the displaced sand. Nice and clean with an overall pleasing colour palette. Personally I might have flipped it, but no deal breaker. Can't make my mind up about the FG pebbles, as they are OOF they provide a 'peppered' look, which breaks up the smooth sand, removing them I think would create too much of a sterile environment. Nice techs, well processed.

Hi Andreas - This one ticks all the boxes for me. Nice low pov, sharpness, details, breaking wave in the bg and sense of movement from the seal. Good techs and well processed. Nice one!

    TFS,
    Rachel

Love the pose you captured here...the file contrast and colour certainly don't look "pushed" to me, so well done on that.
I'd shave just a tad off the bottom?

Thanks so much folks for your kind comments as always much appreciated.

Haseeb - this is really extreme ´nit picking ´ , LOL , but in the end your are right , so sorry that i overlooked the great disaster , will try to be more precise next time .

Steve - you know sometimes it is a bit spooky between the two of us when it comes to the way of thinking about things ( we had that in the past already if you remember in a private exchange ), i actually had exactkly the same thoughts regarding the FG pebbles and had two versions with or without them , but you see the result in my post which way i went and i like the " dirty " look more . An could be to remove some of them ?

Morkel - with the pushing i meant , that i have pushed the image from tonal POV to a degree to make it more pleasing to my eyes , not thinking that i have pushed it to " artsy or extreme " look . If you could see the flat original you would know what i was talking about in my intro .

    Thanks again , Andresa
