This was taken last Sunday in the early morning as James made the first stop of the day. Spoonbils were coming and going and it was a real treat to see so many at one time .
This would be a real great image except for the OFF foreground. I would seriously consider cropping it out. Great detail and stop action. White on the breast seems a tad hot. Perhaps a pano crop would work well????

Do agree on cropping out most to the bar. I like the feather reproduction and find the colors/density fine. Early morning is difficult keeping some colors in check and have had to reduce the temp a bit !! Big Congrats on this one Judy !!!!
The spoonie is placed perfectly in the image. Rather than cropping out the sandbar, I might consider extending the water via a Quick Mask to cover up the sandbar. This would allow space for the virtual legs.
Very nice shot Judy. Nits have been mentioned. I'd actually crop out the bottom of the sandbar and leave the top where it borders the water alone. I think that helps to frame the image nicely.
Thanks Alfred, Joe. Hugh and Jay for your comments. I can dfinitely see the advantage of cropping the OOF sand. Sunday morning was so beautiful and I was just a bit carried away trying to capture an environmental image but with the sand OOF it did not portray what my eyes saw. Again many thanks . I appreciate it.
