Green Woodpecker (Juvenile) Finally got the bird actually bathing ! Difficult withshutter speed as the pool is inshade in the woodland Isay pool but its only two foot cross. They are so funny these birds. They act like reptiles ! They are so regular too They come at about 4 o,clock eachday. Got some nice video too. Hope I,m not boring you with the pics
Considering the bird is only 5 foot fro the hide they are really confiding.
Not been able to do much since January . Been incapactated so to speak so great to be out and about again.

I know what you mean Dan. I agree. The waterlevelwent up with the rain so the bird is nearer the camera which means its cut the bramble leaves out

Another great capture of this lovely bird John. Great pose and I like how the tail is 'floating'on the waters edge

I wish the tail was not cut off on the LLC, but a splendid image in other ways John.
I am not sure of the BG either, but you did the best you could given the scene.

Thanks all. Here/s the original. Would be interested if anyone wants a play with cropping.

I would just crop the OOF greenery mostly from the bottom and tighten from above a little. Something like this.
Cropping is quite personal though, as you know.
