    Hi - heres one taken a couple of weeks ago on the way to work (whilst I sort through the images I took on my holiday)

    Hi Lance from your perspective I don't think you could have done any better.

    Ways to improve would have been cleaner bg water and a lower perspective. Neat looking bird !!! I like the pose and how you got him fluffed up !!!

    I like your composition great details on your bird, love the fluffed up feathers. nice sharp details, and good eye contact...the water could be cleaner,,, but hey, it is what it is, lets call it habitat...:p

    love the detail in the bird. never seen one of those before!! agree about the lower perspective!! would have been nicer. with this one though, i think you could crop some of the foreground out and it would be stronger! cant wait to see what you got on vacation!!

    Good looking bird and I don't mind the habitat. Agree on cropping some of the foreground.

    Very nice shot Lance - I like the light, the bird is sharp and the plumes show really well - just get a bit lower and you'll get all those bonus points around here.

    Lance, boy does the face and eyes stand out! Really nice work,nice detail too.
