Satish, this is awesome. Great pose, eye contact, prey facing the viewer and the comp and colours are superb. TFS.

Hi Satish, out of all the Kingfishers, Ive seen and captured on camera, I still havent seen this species in real life. Striking colours, well exposed, and you have captured the perfect angle/moment, as I know Kingfishers tend to turn around often when eating their meal. I like how the lizard is facing us too. I would maybe come in from the LHS, so as to not have that part of the tree sticking out.

    Sanjeev and Stuart Sir,
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
    Stuart Sir,
You are welcome to Pune in the next breeding season of ODK, that is from May,2016 to end of August,2016. Just let me know your arrival dates. Rest I will arrange.
This picture is taken ( in the morning) near the nest of king fisher, while parents were feeding them. I have also seen the another lizard was refused (in the afternoon) by the babies and finally eaten by one of the parent,
however it was facing me only. I have also seen them turning around while eating their meal.

    Regards,
    Satish.

    Hi Satish
I wish you could try to aim so you avoid the bright area (if this is a regular perch they use). I think you could do a little retouching of the eye, especially the darkening of the pupil. It just looks a little grainy (the eye itself).
Nicely done, a very special photo and I admire the dedication you have to get these images.
    Thanks for sharing.

Another nice ODK shot Satish, you must have a gallery full of wonderful shots of them by now - must be hard to resist such beautiful birds, I know I'd be out as often as possible.

The only adjustment I'd make would be to possibly do a little selective burning to the lizards back, otherwise spot on for me

    Akos, Christopher and Mike,
Thank you so much for your kind words of appreciations. I am happy that you all liked the image.

Mike, I will take care of lizard's back, eye and part of the tree sticking out at LLC, as suggested.
    Regards,
    Satish.

Whoa, that's a big catch, Satish! To nab this gorgeous species with such a unique and large prey item can definitely not be easy. Comp wise, I would crop from the top a bit.
The plumage overall appears a bit grainy/noisy. This is such a keeper that I would reprocess this carefully to extract the most fine details possible.
    TFS.

You have a fantastic bird here. The IQ could be improved a little but it is a small matter when measured against the subject content and interest. A fine shot indeed Satish!

    Jim, Sidharth and Adrian,

Thank you so much for your feed back and comments.
All points about noise, IQ etc. are noted.

    Regards,
    Satish.
