This was taken on my last trip to Italy. Taken in Cortona in Tuscany. I first used a glass filter in Photoshop and then added a lace texture on top.
    Thanks for looking.

PS - after posting I noticed the dark line in the lower left corner - I need to remove it.

Really pretty colours and I love the subdued light. The textures are not overpowering. Very quaint, pretty scene Cheryl.

You captured the essence of Italy here! Nice subtle application of the effects to create a softer feeling image that conveys a feeling of the "old country" and not just a wall of bricks and a window. Very nice! I think Italy "speaks" to you!

Your treatment of the image is perfect for an image from Italy with a warm, rustic feel. Nice processing and use of textures!

    Cheryl,

Greetings. The softer bricks work well to bring out the sharper subject. I find myself wondering what it would look like if all of the bricks were toned down a bit toward the tonality of the bottom bricks (and a little off the top). Small things. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Cheryl, I love this! I agree that the warm tones are quintessential Italy! I love the old, wooden-slatted window too...the whole piece hands together well.

Wonderful image. The warm color of the bricks goes nicely with the warm colors of the flowers. The window itself is complex and worth photographing--the wood frame, the brickwork, the stones--all create a beautiful window. The flowers are icing on the cake. The reflections in the windows, with the bit of blue, are a nice touch. Your processing works perfectly. I love everything about this image. It conveys a sense of place. (I do think that the lower left corner needs to be pulled down and to the right a bit to straighten out the bricks and window.)
