Darter with chicks

This could qualify for both August and September themes I guess.
As the adult bird landed on the top branch, three young birds made their way up to her very quickly,
showing their sharp bills into her face. I wonder if adults ever get injured from such brutal feeding regime.

Taken at a local duck pond near Sydney Olympic Park.

There's a lot going on here so we have the joy of scanning it all. A refreshing image for sure and it all looks good. The detail looks very good and the composition does too. Nice work.

Lots to like here.
IQ is excellent and I like the flurry of wings and tails everywhere.
Love the POV showing the chick's head directly in the parent's mouth and the very visible eye of the parent.
If I had one wish, it would be to see the eye of the farthest most chick but would be thrilled to have this as is in my files.
You should have saved this image for September's theme!!

Hi Akos, now this is real feeding behaviour - great action here. Well positioned to get one of the youngsters down parents throat nicely framed between the others. Well exposed on these guys, they can be difficult, and you certainly achieved good DOF. The central placement was the only way to go here.
