Unusual comp Dan with the birds both looking out so to speak. I like it. Grand light and definition on the birds too and just enough detail in the BG.
    Good stuff.

I like it too, the central comp works well...and I actually think a bit more room left and right would work too. Good exposure, nice details, great perch and BG.

Hi Dan, brilliant exposure on both Puffins, and both in perfect focus. I do like that they are looking in opposite directions, and just enough rock perch. The dark sea BG sets them off nicely. Well captured.

    Dan:

Agree with above comments, unconventional pose, but together works very well, almost makes me think of sentries on look out.

I'm with Daniel on a sliver more room to the left.

    Well captured.

    Cheers

Excellent image Dan! I like the poses, exposure control, IQ, DOF, composition and water color. Did you do a little cloning on the rock? I see some repeating patterns just to the left of the tail of the bird on our right. Great to get two in one frame.

very nice Dan, like everything here. I might make the blacks a bit denser. do you have a file with the two puffins looking at each other?

I also see the clone artifacts Jim mentioned on the rock

I'm struggling to agree with above regarding each bird looking away. My eye does not find the composition easy to look at when the birds are so dissociated, I find myself scanning left and right and not landing on any focal point. Each bird looking away does not of itself make it interesting IMHO. However, others have taken a different view and if they like it and more importantly if you like it then that is all that matters. The cloning which is significant is not well done and should have been disclosed IMHO. On the plus side I think what you have done with the exposures is nothing short of wonderful. Each bird has nice detail or the suggestion of detail. The gradations of shade are beautiful and give each bird good form and from the perspective of each bird the work is top drawer. The background is superb.

I like the compositional balance you had achieved here.
    Great details and nice light.

Stunning! Just love those rich details and the comp. The deep blue BG is to die for. Cloning artifacts mentioned.
