    Little Egret
The new scrape setup has payed off ! I,ve wanted one of these since they first started to appear in this country many years ago. Never managed it until yesterday and one turned up twice infront of the hide.
I sat there from 5 in the morning till tea time but it was worth it. Will be a while before the pp is finished! Heres a wide shot t start with - one of my favourites at a quick look. Thought it might pass for Florida ?????
It all happens if you put the time in and its so good to be back snapping- especially when something like this happens.
Slight back side light. Swan preening fathers cloned out.

    Neat image.
    Thanks for looking.

    This is lovely John.
I just love the grasses in the BG. Gives a lovely painterly feel to the image.
I also like the placement of the bird within the frame and the vegetation around the bird.
Well done and congrats on getting this bird to your pond!

A nice bird for sure and one I'd be happy to get at my local pond. I love the rim lighting and composition. I can't set up a hide...in Salford it would get trashed within hours and if I was in it I'd be robbed!

Hi John, big congrats on getting your shot, as well as capturing this pose. I like how the Egret is posed next to the taller foliage, together with the slanting OOF reeds in the distant BG.

Thanks Stu. It does help after a long break to get things going again. I,m affraid 11 hours in a small hide is a bit trying to say the least !!

Lovely habitat, and the backlighting works well enough here. An odd processing mark needs to be cleaned up above-left of the egret's head. Kudos on your patience.

    Thanks all
Dan- that's where most of the white feathers were stuck to the vegetation. They were canada geese feathers by the way -not swan as I said. Lazy cleaning up again.!
