This is our last day on Uist, so we decided to visit a small island north called Benery. It was well worth the visit, we managed to get close to some waders on the beautiful deserted beach, and the light was good.

Off to Isle of Mull tomorrow

Thanks for looking, and comments on my Oystercatcher, appreciated

I like the walking pose, details, sharpness, HA, complimentary BG and exposure. I would take a little off the bottom if it were mine but its a beauty as presented. Excellent image Will!

Will I promise myself a trip up to those islands one day before I'm to old, they look magical even with the weather you get

This is a smashing looking little Wader that you have captured very well, colour of the bird looks about perfect to me, sharpness looks right, and a nice walking pose, very nice image Will.

Excellent capture William. I generally tend toward a looser crop so as presented I think you did just fine. Good detail and light:)

Sweet bird, Will. Love the striding pose. Agree on trying a little crop off the bottom and cloning out some of the dark and light spots in the BG may be an option if you're not averse to it. I find Nik tonal contrast with negative settings very useful for smoothing out backgrounds in a very controllable way and this is the type of image that I would try it on.

Grand little birds these. Had them infront of the hide but never managed anything as good as this. Lovely browns.

    Excellent shot, Will.
I'm not sure about the species.
A typical Dunlin would have longer, more slender and more curvy bill.
