Etosha - A breeding herd of elephants rushing to the water after sunset kick up a cloud of fine white dust, allowing one youngster to stand out from the crowd.
I love that modern imaging technology is allowing us to photograph in the kind of light our forerunners would not even have dared to attempt.

The little one really stands out in the crowd Morkel. I like the low POV, the PP looks great and amazing IQ at the given ISO. Wish that rock in the FG was not there.

Hi Morkel -- good enough quality at this high iso , lovely colors of the little one and the dust is adding a very good feel to the overall image . I also feel the stones in the FG are a bit distracting and the head of the elephant in the LHS corner should have been fully included. TFS !

    More Morkel!

I like this very, very much, baby ellie really pops out of this frame and thus - for me at least - the others become part of the BG, had they been in focus I would have thought otherwise. I love the colours of the scene and the atmosphere helps bring to mind an entire herd walking together, hips and shoulders raising and falling, trunks pointing to the ground, the old matriarch keeping a vigilant eye on the young ones as they go. This is very evocative.

Thought long and hard about the FG, to a certain degree it helps create this wonderful 3D feel, if I were "in charge" of the PP work here I would try reduce the whiteness on top of those rocks, WDYT Morkel?

Wonderful scene and very original, I always think of you as a photographer who sees things others might overlook, one who makes the most of a given image and who knows how to tell a story with just a single frame

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Tough call on this one Morkel, the ellies themselves are nigh on perfect, with all the differing sizes, poses and the one clear youngster. However, the foreground rocks are really distracting for me, and take the edge off the overall look.

Hi Morkel lovely seen and captured , regarding the little one , framed by the others staying in dust .
Lovely processed with some nice tones and lovely colors .

But i agree with Mike regarding the FG , i also do find it a bit too dominant . Plus the headless Elephant is not that ideal from my POV , but understand that it is sometimes difficult to find an end /beginning when you photographed more than one or two animals .

Thanks for the honest feedback, folks.
Tough call on that rock in the FG. Hard to avoid as I was lying on my belly for this shot...
I think I have more of the BG LHS elephant in the frame but not the entire head and trunk so cropped it a bit.
