This was taken last year in Costa Rica. The perch was intended for a bigger bird but this Honeycreeper thought it suited him just fine. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

    JIM:

That is a serious wide open mouth on this fellow! Bold colors, real attitude. Yes, perch is a bit large, but the form and curves helps. I might consider toning down its luminosity just a bit to reduce its visual impact.

    Cheers

Nice image, Jim. Perch has interest and shape, so I don't find it to be a problem. Open mouth is nice as is that sharp red eye.

A full on songster here! What a shot! The detail aided by the feathers being slightly raised and the sun angle is exquisite IMHO. I love the perch!

Interesting perch adds to the image , catching the bird in full song is a real bonus, it,s a real nice image Jim, like it a lot.

Lovely image, Jim. Beautiful bird, nicely shown. I too would have wished for a smaller perch but being twisted and weathered makes it so interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Jim, striking colours, and that yellow open bill really screams out the image. Good angled pose, and the twisty perch reminds me of a strand of Liquorice.
