    Captured in Tarangire NP, Tanzania, 6 April 2015.

    Canon 5DIII + 600 mm f/4 II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held from a vehicle.
    Manual, spot metering, spot AF, AI Servo, f/7.1, 1/800 sec, ISO 1600.
    Processed with DPP4 and PS Elements.

    The composition really shows the white brow and beautiful red eye well. Great feather detail and BG. Very well done Ian.

    A well thought out composition and capture Ian. My only (minor) criticism is the lack of texture and sense of place with the background , a fact beyond your control. Nice work.

    Think I might have seen these birds on Magnetic island Queensland, detail and feather texture looks excellent, sits well on that nice clean bg.very nice job Ian.

    Hi Keith, thanks for your kind comments. This is Centropus superciliosus. The species you saw on Magnetic Is was the Pheasant Coucal, Centropus phasianinus, with the long pheasant-like tail. Warm regards, Ian.
