Green sandpiper with rat tailed maggot. As I mentioned, my first day out and about for a long time and had some good stuff on our waderscrape This sandpiper played with this larva for ages. They have a long breathing tube and hide in the mud. They eventually turn into Crane Flies(Daddy Long Legs) Found when I got home the camera had been set on meoum quality!!! I never learn!

Hi John, cool shot with nice action captured and good detail on the bird. IMHO the BG looks like it could do with some NR, the white patches in the water are a little distracting (may be worth toning them down) and it would have be awesome if the bird's head was a little more turned towards us. TFS
Thanks guys. The white mud is cera#tanly a problem as the sun is into the camera in the afternoon. I knew it would be hard to get rid of the brightness so I left it !!
Heres a try anyway. Pity about the head angle. Done another round of NR too.
Cheers
John
Some excellent captures here John. The prey item is of course a bonus. I used to have a pair on my local river but sadly the council made it easier for joggers and dog walkers to use the footpath and sadly the birds have gone.
