There was a great sunset on Uist this evening. We decided to have a drive and take some sunset pics. From the roadside I saw the Greylag Goose perched, showing a great reflection

    Thanks for looking

    Will:

Very good silhouette, good reflection, interesting collection of rocks and sore masses.

In a perfect world, I wish there wasn't quite so much debris, stubble in the water.

I might tinker with the crop a bit, with a crop form the top to balance the free space above the bird with something close to that below the silhouette.

    Cheers

Lovely still water for a great silhouette, Will. It it were mine, I would crop a big chunk off the right and a little from the top. If you have more on the left I would use, if not adding canvas is an option to give the goose space to look into. I would also clean the debris form the water. Ethically that may change it from a photo to a photoillustration but it is a strong graphic image and compositionally could be worth exploring.

Excellent silhouette Will. I think the rocks dominate a little too much, but again, there is nothing that can be done about the habitat.
