Great image, with a nice background, favourable wing position and beautiful lighting. I never knew there was another osprey species in the world so thanks very much for sharing this and educating me on this bird. I am enjoying viewing the image to note all the differences and similarities to our North American bird.

EDIT: Just did a bit of research into this species and see that it was only split in 2008 from a subspecies and this species is P. h. cristatus.

Nice flight shot with great detail and a good flight position coming toward you. In a perfect world one might wish for the near wing to be a bit more raised, and perhaps the bill to be clear of the far wing. But that's why we keep going back out there.

Good looking osprey, and set against a beautiful background. The comp is tight IMO, but still well balanced. I do feel the image is a tad bright and lowering the exposure by 1/2 stop or so may make a positive difference.

The framing is a bit tight for my taste. I'm OK with colours and exposure but I do think a slight tone down might give the image more punch. A good capture Mervyn.

I like the details, sharpness and flight angle. I could see a looser comp as well. Nice image Mervyn.

Great flight shot with good detail on the bird. A little more room at the top and sharpening of the head area will lift this image even more.

    P. h. cristatus is correct.
