...to run down the hills and take over the desert. All it takes is a little bit of rain to make it happen. Topaz Simplify applied to a picture from back in March, when the Mojave Desert bloomed with a riot of California poppies, goldfields, and coreopsis to name but a few.

I will be going in for heart valve replacement surgery on Friday and will be in the hospital for a few days. I am told that it will be easier than some that I've already had, so I'm holding that thought!

This is stunning with the saturated colors! And wonderful composition as the bright orange poppies take your eye down the hill and into the desert. I would love to see and photograph these poppies when they are in bloom.

May your surgery be as easy as they say, your doctor feeling chipper and your nurses caring...and all you need to do is trust and show up! Take care, my OOTB friend.

I agree the poppies follow a great line within the image. I love all the shades of green too. It must be unusual for a desert scene without a lot of rain? Best of luck tomorrow, I know it will go well.

Great composition with the poppies leading one's eye through the frame. May the procedure and post op period be routine. A new valve can give one a new lease on life. I've been there.
