It was very blusterly today on the island and hardly a bird to be seen. We decided to go drive about and I managed to capture this bird from the car window, whilst driving on Benbecula, a neighbouring island.

Thanks for looking, and for the comments, views on the Ringed Plover.

An excellent capture showing this bird in habitat. The composition suits my taste. When it is windy I often get the tripod really low to reduce movement as much as possible, sometimes at the expense of composition etc.

    Will:

Sharp, well exposed, nice look back pose, interesting habitat.

Wish there was a bit more detail in the sky, but suspect it just wasn't there.

Hope the weather settles a bit for you.

    Cheers

Hi Will, good look back pose, and I do like the surrounding enviroment. I think you should come to sunny SA, even in winter, on most days we have clear skies.

Love the pose and lichen covered rocks, Will. Image looks a bit low in contrast so consider exploring a version with bit more global contrast or even just localised contrast increase on the Pipit.

I like the environment and where you have placed the bird in the frame.
I think this needs a bit more contrast as I find the image a bit flat. Another option would be to boost the blacks in the neutrals in selective coloring in Photoshop.

I like the setting, composition and pose. The repost is an improvement. Nice image William.
