Hi Gail a perfect subject for the theme, and well done for captured a different pose than the norm. I really like the light in this, which in turn has brought out the warm colours on the Godwit. Love the colour of the water, and is that a droplet on the end of the bill?

Lovely details and light, Gail. I like the unusual pose...one we don't often see in an image of this species.

That's good! Great colours as mentioned and pose too. Seenother waders in this position in mid bathe.
    Nice one.

Very nice light. Looks like the bill is too heavy to maintain it straight. Apart from the fact that it qualifies perfectly for the theme it is an awesome shot of this bird with the unusual pose and the extreme low angle. Very well done, Gail.

    Gail:

Made me smile as soon as I opened it, which is a good thing after viewing many, many bird images!

Agree with above comments re: pose, light, details. Comp works very well.

Congrats on a fine example of this months theme, well executed.

    Cheers

Well frozen showing sweet detail in sweet light. Nicely composed and a perfect candidate for the long bill theme. A superb behaviour image Gail.

All said above -- gorgeous! I often feel very early or late light comes through the conversion with a color cast, but this one rings true.

Love the unique pose (preening?). The low angle is very nice, good background and foreground. Sharp and great lighting. All around a very pleasing image with a unique pose.

This one is so good. I love the bathing godwit's pose deep in the water. Good low angle, great colours. Nothing I would not change.
