    Hello,

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions and comments on previous posts.

Here is an image which i posted earlier as a monochrome version . This female is known as the " Rajbehra female " named after the meadows as and the dam which is part of her territory in Bandhavgarh. One of the very few Tigers in Bandhavgarh who is a very successful hunter and depends totally on wild prey rather then cattle's .

We spotted her on a very cloudy morning near the meadows resting and ultimately making a successful kill deep in the forest half an hour after we sighted her.

Canon 1D MK IV , Canon 300mm f 2.8 IS II, 1/200, f 2.8. iso 1250. cloned out a few blades of grass. this is a FF image.

waiting for ur comments and suggestions.

Love how she pops from the BG, Haseeb.
I do wish you could have gone for a tad more DOF, as the snout/mouth is decidedly OOF compared to the eyes...I know the Mk4 is not as good at high ISO as say the 1Dx, but perhaps going f4 at ISO2500 was an option?
Love the colours of her eyes and how the overcast/soft light has brought that out.

Hi Haseeb - Agree with Morkel's comments but this is a very nice portrait of the tiger and she gave you a regal pose. I'm seeing a slight amount of red and magenta in some of the whites, particularly the outermost white on the face and on the neck.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Haseeb from my POV a really very nice portrait of this tiger lady , i like the very attentively look of her. I nice moment in time captured .
Nice comp and overall good details and tones (mid tones ) , good call on colors made by Rachel !! who else .
I can also see a version with her in a classy portrait crop with a bit more space between the ears and the top of the frame ( even canvas extension would make it possible with this lovely clean BG ) .
I would also try to lower the blacks a fraction and a tiny bit less punch in the whites from bit more softness in the tones, but this is just optional for slightly different look .

TFS Andreas , nice work Haseeb

This tiger just pops out of the background! You have captured a compelling pose with a slight up-tilt of the head, allowing really nice details and colors in the eyes. I also enjoy the hair details at the top of the head and especially the ears! I also think adding a bit of canvas to the top would improve the composition as presented.

    Hello Haseeb,

You really got something so special here, I have been staring at this tiger image for the past hour, I think...Even my espresso has gone cold!

Lovely portrait of this not-so-innocent and certainly not pliable to human will tiger female - I took great pleasure viewing and the subject as portrayed gave me a feeling of smallness as well as delight:)

A creature of such vast strength demands awe and respect, and I believe your image gives her justice to a great extent. I like the way you captured her, slightly looking up and with this royal, almost arrogant look in her eyes.

In terms of processing I feel you could dedicate a bit more time to this lovely frame. Although I like the composition as is, I would explore with various versions as per suggestions above. I too see colour casts, what bothers me also is those blacks which appear slightly chocked in places, and in critical areas they tend to give a crunchy appearance. I am certain that more detail can be revealed around the nostrils, eyes, and ears.

Hasseb, I tried to do an RP but just could not demonstrate what I meant above, you might have applied too much contrast and perhaps a bit heavy handed with levels and curves during PP work, I did a lousy job I am afraid and the blacks are still there. I would love to see an RP from you though, starting afresh, with changes applied selectively and no contrast whatsoever if possible, if you need any help I am happy to try again, just send me a PM and I will forward you my email address.

I just love this so much, one of your finest close-ups and I am so taken with Rajbehra, thank you so much for sharing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Hasseb, love the eye contact, and what lovely detail and colours on the head from this magnificent cat. She pops nicely from the BG. Well captured.

Late to the party Haseeb, but this is a great portrait, love the slightly below eye level view and the raised chin, really nice work

Hi Haseeb, just back so only have limited time this week for a very quick 'in & out' for comments. She is gorgeous and in prime condition, a real regal lady!

For me, a pose like this cry's out for going portrait, or, as presented smaller in frame, but still off set, however since this was taken I think you have a lot more knowledge and vision under your belt. Certainly more DoF would have helped, abet a fraction more and I would suggest you push the ISO now and practice to get a feel for the MKIV, but certainly it's polls apart from the 1DX in terms of ISO capability for sure, but that's another story. Agree with Rachel on the Red, would also consider reducing both purple & magenta, however this would need to be done selectively so not to 'globally adjust' and reduce colour elsewhere i.e. in the nose. The blacks are clipped, so backing off in both the blacks and perhaps contrast or if you added any, Clarity too, it may also help the slight crunchy look in parts too. The diffused backdrop works well to isolate and give prominence to the subject.

I think you did extremely well under the circumstances, but look forward to more with your new found knowledge.

    TFS
    Steve
