Day 2 on Uist, it was mostly sunny today, but windy, so we had a day on the beach. Making the most of it as there is a large storm coming in from the Atlantic this evening.

Thanks for looking, and for the comments and views on my Short Eared Owl.

Another one of my favourite species, which I had hoped to photograph this year but sadly has not happened:(
The bird has posed very nicely for you but it looks like you have blown the neck area a bit. If you go back to the original file can you retrieve any detail?

Similar to our Semipalmated Plovers. I like the beach setting, and good profile pose. Quite harsh light though. Although the head is not angled away, why would it have been better angled a few degrees more towards us?

Thanks for that Dan. The light direction would have hit the head if it had been more towards us?

Neck bit noted Will but that apart I do like the beach scene and that's a smashing looking little wader, very nice job.

I know this will seem like a lazy response but Daniel has nailed my feelings exactly!

Hi Will, lovely low angle, and nicely posed between the plants. Looks like you are not having much luck with the weather there. Dont worry, Ive been to our Kruger National Park where it has rained the whole five days I was there.

    Nice one Will.
Like the beach "decoration". Sets the scene. Maybe a slight drop in contrast - no biggie.

You got it! The whole would have been splashed with light.
