    Default Juvenile kingfisher

Another one from my unfortunately short lived kingfisher project. No sign of him for the last few days, so I'm pretty sure he's been driven out of the area now. I'll admit to missing the slightly dark feet and white tip to the beak which indicate juvenile first time round. Still, I'll take my binoculars on tonights dog walk and keep a look out, you never know!

Thanks for all the previous help / comments

Beautiful shot. Love the rich colors and the background is great, perch is nice and head angle is engaging. Overall...a winner.

Lovely shot mike great pose and colours, and very sharp - well done.
I get the impression a few highlights are a bit burnt out (neck, tail & possibly chin) but it still looks good

Another beauty of this little guy. Hope he reappears for you. I'm also seeing just a few toasted spots but not serious. And a little more DOF would have been ideal, but judging from the SS and ISO you were obviously fighting some low light conditions. A keeper in my book.

Great image, super detail and sharpness at such low shutter speed.

A lovely image and good detail and colour. The blown parts are not significant but can easily be managed for a print. In short ....wish it were mine.

Thanks everyone, tough to get these without a couple of blown highlights - I even underexposed a little and had to bring up the rest slightly in PP. Obviously not enough though!
