A fun way to photograph birds! Good comp and nice BG. Interesting to see the lower mandible longer the upper. Looks like there is some subject motion blur here.
Good action shot and must be nice to shoot from the deck with a drink in hand!! I think there is a bit of motion blur in the image but not too bad. Otherwise, great clean background and a fairly dynamic flight pose...actually the small amount of blur sort of adds to the sense of movement.
Thanks for the comments guys. Yer prob right Jon, it was a fairly large crop. Nothing quite near the balcony Yet Yes it is a lovely place to capture birds Geoff, but different story on Saturday, I am off to the Outer Hebrides with my wife for 10 days. The weather forecast dont look good
Well nailed William but unfortunately the subject blur/movement is a bit too much. For my own taste I am perhaps a little forgiving in subject movement department but here I think it is an issue...I'm sorry but I am just being honest. I recently did peregrines at 1/1600 sec, with such a relatively slow shutter speed I do not 'track' the birds. I try to over compensate the panning in the direction the bird flies in and hope the focus hits. This method is counter intuitive but it works for me. I get less frames but the ones I make are more likely to be sharper IMHO.
