    The mom orangutans care for their babies for 7 years. I believe this baby is not very old, maybe 2-3. Mom & the baby hung out in the forest near the lodge, most likely as protection against the larger males who were reluctant to come so close to people. We were very privileged to watch the mom tenderly care for her baby and several times swoop up the baby when she wanted to move to a different part of the forest. I hope the youngster thought it was fun flying through the trees on mom's back!

    Great sense of motion Nancy, and I love the expression on the wee tot, so innocent. Love the branch going across the frame, a great line that adds to the motion. Nicely done.
