The temptation was to post it in the "avian" forum but I think the quality is not high enough ... unfortunately the weather was "capricious" and the light is not too good to extrapolate the maximum detail.

In post production I tried to stay as faithful as possible to the real conditions of light present.

I like the position and the lighting. I would be tempted to bring up the shadows a little bit to see if a little more detail came out in the far wing. Looks like either the sun was setting or there were some thunderheads in the area which can tend to give that kind of lighting at times.
I thought I had replied to this -- apologies! You got a nice opportunity with the flight shot but the light here was not good to you. Focus does not look sharp -- the 7D is not a champion with a moving subject in low light. That and the high ISO has limited image detail (noise, poor resolving power and low dynamic range).
